FRACTIONAED 1540 LASER

The Fractionated 1540 laser is a revolutionary noninvasive laser designed to dramatically improve skin texture and tone, including the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and surgical scars without significant downtime.  The Fractionated 1540 is considered a resurfacing laser that uses fractional technology..  Fractional simply means the laser beam is broken up into tiny micro columns so that not all the skin is treated at once.  Because it's a fractional laser, the downtime and healing process is faster than lasers that target the full surface area of the skin.  This laser is great for skin texture issues of the face, neck and body.

The fractionated 1540 laser treats a wide variety of skin conditions:

  • Moderate sun damage
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Collagen breakdown
  • Moderate texture changes
  • Actinic keratosis
  • Pigmentation
  • Acne scars and other scars

During your consultation we will make a recommendation that is best for you skin type and desired outcome.  On average, treatments are performed in a series of 3-5 treatments approximately 3-4 weeks apart. As with all treatments, individual results may vary.

How does Fractionated 1540 Laser treatments work?

The Fractionated 1540 utilizes fractional resurfacing technology, where only a small fraction of the skin receives the laser light.  Thousands of tiny but deep columns of laser energy are produced.  This eliminates reface pigment and penetrates deep into the skin, intensively restoring the skin.  Around the microscopic treatment zones, the surrounding tissue is unaffected and intact. This allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire are were treated at once, using the body's natural healing process to create new, healthy tissue. The fractionated laser also stimulates collagen production in the skin which rejuvenates the skin from the inside, smoothing the appearance of wrinkles and scars.

When is the best time to get Fractionated 1540 Laser treatments done?

This treatment will make your skin more UV-light sensitive. Ideally these tremens are best performed October-June, avoiding mid-summer months.

What is the downtime like?

After your Fractionated 1540 Laser treatment, you can expect your skin to be pink and slightly puffy as if you had a moderate sunburn.  Pattens are instructed to ice the treated area and avoid strenuous activities for 2-3 days post treatment.  Redness and swelling will resolve over the course of 3-7 days with your skin feeling rejuvenated 1-2 weeks after treatment.
