LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Laser hair removal works by targeting and destroying hair follicles. As the hair follicle deep below the surface of your skin absorbs the laser energy, its regenerating structures are instantly eliminated.

Laser hair removal only affects hair that is in an active growth cycle. That's why it's important to go through multiple treatments, each several weeks apart (you need to catch each hair while it's growing).

Some hair may fall out immediately during your treatment, although most hair needs time to shed away from your skin. While you can certainly shave between treatments, it's essential to avoid plucking or waxing treated hair, since you can disrupt the shedding process that occurs after laser treatments.

HOW IT WORKS

At your initial treatment the hair should be visible on the surface of the skin.
As the laser is directed onto the hair heat energy is drawn into the melanin, which in turn heats the rest of the hair shaft.
The heat either weakens or completely destroys the hair follicle.  As a result the follicle detaches from the hair shaft.
The hair sheds and, without the follicle, hair cannot regrow in the area.
